Whether wanting a smaller wedding was an initial dream of yours or made necessary due to COVID-19, we want to share some inspiration for your big day! Here are our top five tips for making a smaller wedding feel as big as you want!

1. Open the Space With Flowers and Greenery

Keep your guests comfortably spaced out with the cozy addition of flowers and lush plants. With a smaller guest list, there’s more space for all the decor you can dream of. Plants purify the air, while also making sure people stay in designated areas. Add in floating candles to make the space even warmer.

2. Have a Plan for Viewing Remote

Zoom meetings have become the new norm. This is becoming true for weddings too. Make sure you have a plan set up for those guests that are viewing at home. Send them a party favor to have as a memory from your special day and possibly encourage dressing up to really feel part of the moment. Just because people are viewing from home, doesn’t mean it has to be any less special!

3. Arrange Seating to be Distanced

Melrose Knitting Mill is the perfect venue to make sure everyone has their space. Group families together and keep tables distanced at least six feet apart to ensure that while masks are off, everyone is enjoying each other safely. Having such an open and bright space allows guests to feel comfortable and gives you opportunities to use the extra space for decor that may have been too tight to fit before.

4. Special Party Favors

With a more intimate guest list, you’re able to give more personalized favors. Let your closest friends and family know how much it means for them to be apart of your day and send them home with something a little more special. Maybe a plant to grow or a small bottle of your favorite spirit. Get creative!

5. Keep Serving Sizes Personal

During these times where sharing is frowned upon, give your guests an easy bite-size treat! With so many dessert options out there, look into bakeries that can offer small nice cakes or cookies that help you avoid cutting from the same cake. It will also keep you from giving too large of portions that often go to waste.
